Dozens of artists will exhibit their work on Station Street

Performers take to the streets in downtown Duncan on August 6.

The Cowichan Valley Arts Council is providing a breath of fresh air with fresh art at the first Breath of Art Market.

The one-day outdoor art fair will be held in the middle of Station Street from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Visitors can stroll through a traffic-free zone between Craig Street and Canada Avenue to see dozens of artists displaying their works and demonstrating their creativity.

People can watch demonstrations of everything from watercolors to woodwork and marquetry.

Musicians will play nearby in the park.

Artists still have the possibility of reserving a space at the art market (registration is done on the CVAC website).

“I can see this event growing into a local tradition like Victoria’s Moss Street Paint-In,” said CVAC President Janet Magdanz.

“It will be a relaxing way to explore new art forms and meet well-known artists in one place. With support from the Downtown Duncan Business Improvement Association and local merchants, the Breath of Art Market will showcase the artistic soul of the area.
