Opening of a studio and an art gallery in downtown Tiffin

Tiffin, Ohio— Local artist Chelsea Mullins announced Monday that she is opening her first art studio and gallery in downtown Tiffin at 193 S. Washington St., in the new studio2 location shared by Heart of Ohio Sports.

The business, which will exhibit and sell art and give art lessons, will open in late July or early August.

Mullins is a Colombian Tiffin graduate with a degree in fine arts and art history from Terra State. She has been painting professionally for nearly nine years, focusing on commissioned work, portraits, murals, sculpture and performance art. She is currently co-vice chair of the Tiffin Municipal Arts Commission and recently painted the Your Legacy Federal Credit Union mural in honor of their recent expansion.

In making the announcement, Mullins said, “I’m thrilled to take this step and make art more accessible to people. I’m also excited to do it in downtown Tiffin, where I join the Tiffin Art Guild, the Poignon Project and Community Art Shed, Studio 605 Fine Art, Hawkes Crystal, Rustic Flair & Brush, and the Tiffin Glass Museum.

In addition to creating her own art and work as a visual artist, Mullins plans to focus on personal, couple and group art lessons, using a more interpretive and introspective approach. With experience in leading local arts events, such as the Tiffin Music and Arts Festival and successful painting and pint classes at the Tiffin Brewery.

“I hope to teach classes at our new studio and grow from there,” Mullins said.

Tiffin Mayor Aaron Montz welcomed the announcement: “We congratulate Chelsea on its new downtown location, where it joins the Tiffin Art Guild, the Pignon Project and the Community Art Shed, Studio 605 Fine.
