Mobile showcase art studio: Brushstrokes opens location in Bowdon

A new DIY (Do it yourself) creative space is coming to 112 West College Street Suite B in downtown Bowdon. Brushstrokes opens a showcase with its mobile art studio. We spoke to owners Laurie and Scott Summey who are both excited about Bowdon’s new spot. He tells us: “Laurie’s passion is the art of ceramics of children’s hands and footprints, which she has been practicing for 14 years. Laurie and Scott both started hosting arts and crafts festivals in 2018 “and the business has only grown from there.”

The new creative DIY studio will provide a gathering-like environment for friends and family to get together and get crafty. Brushstrokes will host parties for all ages, and a splatter room is being added where guests can get dirty and create their own masterpiece! The location will offer gift cards, painted door hangers as well as ready-to-buy art gifts and t-shirts.

Laurie mentions, “We still offer our mobile paint parties as well as attendance at arts and crafts festivals in the area. We’re excited to bring this unique and creative experience to West Georgia and look forward to seeing everyone! A soft opening of the new site takes place on Founder’s Day, August 6, and a grand opening will take place on August 13.
