Coven Presents ‘Bestiary’ at Clientele Art Studio | News, Sports, Jobs

WHEELING – Clientele Art Studio announces the return of Coven, a witch-themed art exhibition curated by artists Natalie Kovacs, Alex Wright, Mindi Yarbrough and Cynthia Jimenez.

The opening night will feature tarot readings by local businesses Card and Soul Tarot, music by Ananga Martin, poetry readings by Cindy Lewis and Sarah Clark, and mini pies by Midge’s Kitchen.

The event will take place at the Clientele Art Studio from 8 p.m. to midnight on Saturday, September 17. Tickets are $5.

Coven got its start in the winter of 2018 when Kovacs came up with the idea of hosting a witch-themed art exhibit.

“Naturally, I first pitched the idea to one of my best friends Alex, then we decided to ask Mindi and Cynthia if they wanted to be a part of it (and of course they were very excited)” , Kovacs said. “We all continue to put on these shows because we want others to have a safe space to celebrate pagan traditions, creativity and inclusivity. Moreover, we all love each other very much and work very well together!

This year’s theme is “Bestiary”. By definition, a bestiary is a descriptive book featuring both real and mythical animals.

“We thought a show with this theme could produce a lot of cool art featuring cryptids, animals, and folklore,” the Coven creator said.

Clientele Art Studio is located at 43-15th St., Wheeling. Clientele Art Studio is open Fridays from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturdays from noon to 10 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 6 p.m.
